Stria Sport Enters Pickleball with the G1 Pro Court Shoe
New brands enter the pickleball space every week. Very few arrive with athletes already wearing their products on the Olympic stage.
Chicago-based Stria Sport has been building a reputation across multiple sports since launching in 2021. Their footwear has already been worn by more than 100 professional athletes worldwide, including competitors at the 2024 Paris Olympics and performers on the the Harlem Globetrotters’ 100th anniversary tour.
Now the brand is stepping deeper into pickleball with the release of the G1 Pro Court Shoe, a model designed specifically for the speed, pressure, and constant directional changes of the game.
Developed with feedback from everyday players and world No. 1 men’s doubles player Gabe Tardio, the G1 Pro was built with one goal in mind: to deliver stability, comfort, and confidence during long days on the court.
Who Is Stria Sport?
Stria Sport was founded by former collegiate athletes who weren’t ready to step away from competition, but wanted to rethink how performance gear is built.
Their philosophy is simple: to design products from the athlete’s perspective and to focus on performance instead of hype.
The name comes from the Latin word Industria, which represents diligence, energy, and purposeful effort. That idea carries through the way the company approaches product design. Every material, line, and structural element is meant to serve a purpose.
Stria has already expanded across basketball and other court sports, working directly with athletes throughout the design process. NBA veteran Andre Drummond and pickleball standout Gabe Tardio both contribute their insight into product development.
That athlete-first approach is now shaping the company’s newest pickleball release.
The New G1 Pro Pickleball Court Shoe
The G1 Pro Pink Colorway was developed specifically around the way pickleball players move on the court. Instead of adapting an existing tennis or basketball shoe, the design focuses on the quick lateral movements, explosive pushes, and rapid stop-and-go transitions that define the sport.
Tardio played a direct role in the design and testing process, and recently shared that he was proud to help develop a shoe built specifically for pickleball players.
The goal was to create something that feels stable, supportive, and comfortable enough to handle long sessions of play.
Key Features
Internal heel cup for enhanced ankle stability during quick directional changes
Foam midsole designed to absorb impact while returning energy during movement
Wide supportive base to increase balance and stability during lateral play
Breathable mesh zones that improve airflow and help keep feet cool
Padded ankle collar for added comfort and support around the ankle
Together, these features create a shoe that feels locked in without feeling stiff or bulky.
Fit and Sizing
According to Stria Sport, the G1 Pro runs slightly larger than most athletic shoes.
Players who prefer a roomier fit with extra space in the toe box can order their typical size. Those who prefer a tighter, performance-style fit may want to go a half-size down.
The added space appears intentional, giving players more room for natural foot movement during longer play sessions.
Why We’re Loving Stria Sport Right Now
Stria already has credibility across multiple sports, and their athlete-led design process gives them a different perspective than many companies entering the space.
A few things stand out immediately:
Athlete involvement in product development
Performance-first design philosophy
Accessible pricing
Experience beyond pickleball
For a company that’s only been around since 2021, Stria has built a surprisingly strong foundation across multiple sports.
Where to Find the G1 Pro
The Stria Sport G1 Pro Court Shoe launched this month and retails for $130.
The shoe is available directly through the Stria Sport website and at select retailers, in both men’s and women’s sizes and in a pink colorway.
With athlete-driven design and growing momentum across multiple sports, the G1 Pro marks Stria’s most significant step yet into the pickleball world.
